In the previous post, I was just complaining about all the fictional things that some say quantum computing will solve. These dreams aren’t coming out of nowhere. There is an urgent need to solve problems like climate change. And those who say quantum machine learning will solve them have at least acknowledged that these problems are far too hard to solve with our current classical supercomputers.
It is fun to talk about, and perhaps even fantasize about, all the things that quantum computing could be helpful for. But asking what a quantum computer could do is not the right question.
In today’s post, we shed some light on what you should ask instead!
